Julia Masias is the Co-founder and Co-Director/Head Coach for Sting Lacrosse. She is also the Assistant Head Coach at Eastlake High School, where she was instrumental in leading them to a 14-2 regular season, 9-0 in league play and the Metro Mesa League Championship in 2021.

The club was established in September, 2014 as Chula Vista Sting. The name was changed to Sting Lacrosse so that youth throughout San Diego County feel welcome in joining the team.

Since September, 2014 our goal at Sting Lacrosse has been to provide opportunities for girls and boys to learn the sport of lacrosse, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Based on Julia’s personal experience, as a player, she knows that lacrosse can help build lifelong skills, like teamwork and discipline.

Coach Julia played NCAA Division I lacrosse at San Diego State, majoring in Political Science and now attends Graduate School at Tel Aviv University, majoring in Security and Diplomacy.

At San Diego State, they played against a lot of great teams and she’s made life-long friends. She’s super proud to be a Lady Aztec!!

She has significant international playing and coaching experience, including playing in the Women’s Israel Premier Lacrosse League for the Netanya Bolts, coaching at the 2019 U-19 European Championships for the Israel National Team hosted in Poland and at the Girl’s Lacrosse Festival in Peterborough, Canada for the U-15 Israel Festival Team.

The Summer of 2018 she and Jameson had the opportunity to travel to Israel so they could help support the Men’s World Lacrosse Championships, hosted in Netanya, Israel. She also played for the local Netanya Bolts Women’s team, where they played against teams like England, Germany and other local Israel teams.

Jameson Masias is the Co-Founder, Assistant Director and Assistant Head Coach at Sting Lacrosse. He is also the Assistant Coach at Eastlake High School for both the girls and boys teams.

He had an outstanding High School Lacrosse Prep Career playing at Eastlake High School in San Diego, California. He helped start the Boys program so that young boys in South Bay San Diego County could have a chance to learn and play lacrosse.

During Summer 2018, Jameson played on the U-19 Men’s Israel Festival team during the World Championship tournament that was hosted in Israel.

He also had the honor of walking out the Iroquois team during the opening ceremonies of the World Championships.
